NZSki operates three of New Zealand’s leading ski areas in the Southern Alps of the South Island: Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, and Mt Hutt.
Locally owned by Trojan Holdings Limited, NZSki is part of a wider group with a strong track record in sustainable tourism. The business also operates iconic South Island destinations including Aoraki / Mt Cook and the Milford and Routeburn Tracks.
A long history on snow
Commercial skiing in the Southern Lakes began in 1947, when a simple rope tow was built at Coronet Peak. As demand grew, plans for a second Queenstown ski area followed—and in 1985, The Remarkables Ski Area officially opened.
NZSki has evolved through several ownership phases, before being purchased from Air New Zealand in 2002 by local Queenstown family, the Davies, bringing the company firmly back into local hands.
Our mountains
Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are based in Queenstown, New Zealand’s premier four-season alpine resort destination
Mt Hutt is located in Methven, 75 minutes from Christchurch, and is the leading ski area in the Canterbury region
Today, NZSki continues to invest in world-class mountain experiences while focusing on sustainability, innovation, and long-term stewardship of the alpine environments we operate in.

NZSki’s Trade & Media Kits bring together key information for The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, and Mt Hutt - three distinct mountains with something for every type of skier and rider. Each kit includes essential mountain details, what’s new for the season, and trail maps, making it easy to understand what sets each ski area apart.
