Find Your Freedom

The Remarkables

It all started back in 1985

A true icon, The Remarkables mountain range / Kawarau Maunga is renowned as the grand backdrop of Queenstown. It’s towering, jagged edges are breath-taking and is one of only two mountain ranges in the world that run true North to South. The Remarkables Ski Area itself sits high in an open snowy bowl at the tip of the mountain range.

With a handle rope tow, three fixed grip quad chairlifts and a lot of untamed terrain. Since then, The Remarkables – affectionately known as ‘Remarks’ - has steamed ahead with significant development, boasting modern facilities, establishing itself as a world-class ski area.

The young & young at heart

The Remarkables offers sun-soaked wide-open runs, world renowned chutes and breath-taking views. Progression is what it’s all about and the opportunities are endless.

It comes in different forms

From a first-class leaners area where grandparents can watch on from the deck at the café, to easily accessible green runs, open intermediate trails and more adventurous black diamond chutes or back-country terrain. The Remarkables is a place where freedom comes in different forms.

Home of Freeride

Steep and high, yet accessible terrain makes The Remarkables home of the Freeride World Tour Academy and Freeride World Tour Qualifying Events. Remarks is gaining a strong international reputation as a mountain where daring skiers and riders push their limits.

Remarks Parks

A playground for a strong community of skiers and riders. It’s a place where like-minded people come together to celebrate each others progression. Remarks Parks is designed to welcome all abilities from mini- shredders to aspiring professionals.

Remarks Parks is also home to The Burton Stash, a concept park designed by Jake Burton himself. One of only six in the world and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere. The Stash makes the most of the natural terrain and is constructed from organic elements. Whether choosing to hit the features or just cheer from the chairlift, the stoke is high!
