Ready to be transported to a winter wonderland? Hop on Shadow Basin Chair and trek up to the top of the ridgeline. Gaze over the Southern Alps and take in an aerial view of Queenstown below. Our sightseeing pass gives you access to some of the best views in New Zealand.
Please visit our Guest Services desk on the mountain to purchase your Sightseeing pass or Toboggan hire. You can also hire ski clothing and boots for your time in the snow. Remember to check the weather report before heading up.
Sightseeing Pass
Available from Guest ServicesSit back and enjoy the ride up the Shadow Basin chairlift. Be transported to magnificent views overlooking the Southern Alps. The Shadow Basin chairlift gives you access to the lookout via a short on-snow walk. Sightseeing is available daily with two upload times - 12:30pm and 1:30pm (subject to conditions). Parents must be comfortable with holding a small child on their laps. Appropriate closed footwear is required and can be hired on-mountain for an additional cost. *Subject to conditions and available for purchase at Guest Services on the day. Please check our Snow Report on our website before heading up the mountain.
Toboggans
Available to hire on mountainTobogganing is fun for the whole family, especially the kids! Share the smiles as you slide down the Remarkables tobogganing area and play in the snow. Toboggans are available for hire at The Remarkables, subject to conditions and availability. Already have one? Come up and bring your own! Please note that toboggans can only be used in the allocated toboggan area.
Snow Shoe Tour
Available from Guest ServicesWant to experience the snow from a different view? Explore the ski field from the ground up on a snow shoe walk up to scenic Lake Alta. This guided tour includes your snow shoe and pole rental, and one return trip up the beginner carpet and Alta chair. Tours require a minimum of two participants and run from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, subject to conditions. Sturdy, closed shoes are mandatory and can be hired if required. You can book with Guest Services on the mountain or from our Snow Centre in Queenstown. We suggest booking in advance to check availability.

Yooners
Lessons and rentals availableDiscover the Yooner, the new snow sensation in town. A Yooner is a lightweight and fun combination between sledding and skiing that really gets your heart pumping. You carve down the mountain just like you would on traditional skis, but you do so sitting down on a comfortable seat 20 cm from the ground with your feet in front of you. Feeling adventurous? Rent a Yooner with us or book a lesson package with one of our top-notch instructors through Guest Services. Thrills and a good time are guaranteed!
